Fatal crash near JFK Airport claims life of woman traveling in Tesla
On Sunday afternoon, a fatal crash occurred outside John F. Kennedy International Airport that resulted in the death of a female passenger who was traveling in a Tesla. According to authorities, the incident took place in New York.
According to officials, law enforcement received a 911 call reporting a car crash at the Brookville intersection of Guy R. Brewer Boulevard and Rockaway Boulevard, just before 2 p.m.
Upon deeper investigation conducted by the Highway District Collision Investigation Squad of the NYPD, it has been found that a 52-year-old male was driving a black 2023 Tesla Model Y SUV in an eastbound direction on Rockaway Boulevard when he collided with the rear of a gray 2010 Ford Fusion in the right lane close to the intersection of Guy R. Brewer Boulevard.
As the vehicle approached the intersection, it collided with a stationary White 2002 International Utility Body Truck that was situated in the westbound lane of Rockaway Boulevard. The impact of the collision caused significant damage to both vehicles.
The front passenger of the Tesla, who was 54 years old, was transported by EMS to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the Tesla, aged 52, was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center by EMS and is reported to be in a stable condition.
Fortunately, the drivers of both the Ford and the box truck were unharmed and stayed at the scene of the incident.
The inquiry is still in progress at this time.
The authorities are currently withholding the identity of the deceased as they are still in the process of notifying the family.
