A body was discovered in the Ohio River
According to the latest reports, the Huntington Police Department’s detectives have officially confirmed the discovery of a man’s body in the Ohio River.
At 9:27 a.m., an employee from the Greater Huntington Park and Recreation District reported to the authorities that they had spotted a body floating in the river near Harris Riverfront Park.
The patrol officers of Huntington Police Department swiftly responded to the riverfront and collaborated with the Huntington Fire Department to retrieve the body from the river.
The Huntington Police detectives along with the Forensic Investigations Unit arrived at the location to conduct an investigation. As of yet, there is no indication of any suspicious activity. Nonetheless, to determine the cause of death, the body of the victim will be taken to the West Virginia Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
The family of the victim has not yet been informed of the incident.
