Birmingham businessman shot dead identified; Say police investigate
Alabama, NY – Early on Thursday morning, law enforcement officers were called to the location of a homicide in Birmingham. The incident is currently under investigation, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
Early in the morning, around 5:15 a.m., the officers received a call reporting a person shot at Insta Movers situated in the 100 block of Walter Davis Drive, near the Glen Iris area. The Birmingham Police Department (BPD) immediately responded to the call, and upon their arrival, they discovered an unresponsive man lying in a warehouse bay, who seemed to have suffered from a gunshot wound.
The individual was later recognized as Snir Lalum, a 44-year-old resident of Vestavia Hills in Alabama.
The Lalum received immediate emergency assistance from the responding patrol officers before the Birmingham Fire and Rescue team arrived. He was then rushed to UAB Hospital with injuries that were life-threatening.
After fighting for his life, Lalum unfortunately passed away due to his injuries while being treated at the hospital.
As per the report released by BPD, the initial investigation reveals that the victim was approached by an unidentified individual(s) while he was at the business premises, and fired shots at him. The reason behind the attack remains a mystery, and the authorities have not yet arrested anyone in connection with the case.
