Tree trimmer dies while working on Indy’s north side
On Thursday morning, a tree trimming service employee died while working on the city’s north side.
Emergency workers were summoned to the 9000 block of Pickwick Drive soon before 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. The police chase was labeled a death investigation.
According to police radio chatter, a tree service employee fell and died while working in the Pickwick Drive residential area, though the facts of the worker’s death have not been confirmed.
An OSHA spokesman verified that the agency was notified of a workplace fatality. According to OSHA, the employee worked for Maple Tree Service.
Tree-trimming vehicles were parked on Pickwick Drive, according to FOX59/CBS4 crews on the site.
Indiana OSHA will undertake a safety-compliance inspection in connection with the worker’s death.
