Health Service Employee Arrested for Drug Smuggling into Alabama Correctional Facility
Alabama – A YesCare health services staff member, Jasmonique Ware, who is employed with the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC), was apprehended after being caught smuggling drugs into the Donaldson Correctional Facility in Bessemer, Alabama.
Correction officers discovered multiple packages suspected to contain marijuana and methamphetamine during a search of Ware’s possessions. She is currently facing charges for her alleged involvement in this illegal activity.
Following the discovery, Ware has been charged with numerous offenses including methamphetamine trafficking, illegal possession of marijuana, and smuggling contraband into a correctional facility. Such a breach of the correctional system is a serious offense.
As a result of the severity of the charges, Ware is currently in custody at the Jefferson County Jail awaiting her trial. The incident has raised concerns about the security measures within correctional facilities. Authorities are still investigating the matter, and there is a possibility of additional charges being brought against Ware.
