Prosecutor Confirms Suspect in Custody and Identifies Woman Fatally Shot in Belleville Home
According to statements made by Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Belleville Police Chief Mark Minichini, Authorities received a call to respond to a residence situated at the 100 block of Meacham Street in Belleville at around 10:25 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1.
The authorities have reported that Erica Voloshin, a 37-year-old resident of Nutley, was discovered unresponsive with a gunshot wound and was sadly pronounced dead at 10:42 a.m. The suspect in this tragic incident is Scott Hurring, a 43-year-old Belleville man who has since been charged with murder.
The authorities have charged Hurring with the grave crime of murder and the unlawful possession of a weapon, resulting in the suspect being apprehended and held in custody.
