Police arrest Virginia Beach high school kid with firearm and ammunition
Thursday morning, a student at Green Run High School in Virginia Beach was arrested for bringing a handgun and ammunition onto campus, according to authorities.
A 16-year-old student was charged with possession of a firearm on school property, concealed carry of a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a minor.According to the Virginia Beach Police Department, the firearm and ammunition were discovered at 7:10 a.m.
The investigation reportedly began when it was reported that the student had a handgun at the bus stop, according to a message sent to the families of Green Run High School students.
Administrators and school security discovered the student on campus, and law enforcement “took immediate action to address the situation,” according to the message. A weapon was discovered and secured during an examination of the student.
“We are relieved to report that everyone on campus is safe, and there were no injuries as a result of this incident,” according to the notification.
