Cedar Rapids charges Ohio man with enticing a minor

An Ohio resident was recently charged with enticing a minor in Cedar Rapids.
The city of Cedar Rapids in Iowa has recently been in the news.
On Wednesday, Oct. 25, the Cedar Rapids Police Department apprehended a man for reportedly engaging in sexual enticement of a minor.
At approximately 6:48 p.m., Bikers Against Predators, a non-profit organization dedicated to uncovering online child predators, contacted the Cedar Rapids Police Department (CRPD).
According to the criminal complaint, Bikers Against Predators reported an incident involving an adult male at the Residence Inn on 730 33rd Ave. SW. The male was attempting to engage in illegal sexual activity with one of the members of Bikers Against Predators.
On the dating app MeetMe, one of our team members posed as a 13-year-old girl and engaged with a man. The team member reported that the man invited the profile to his hotel room to engage in sexual activity, regardless of the fact that the fake profile disclosed their age as 13.
After arranging a meeting with the man, the Bikers Against Predators member responsible for the profile was joined by two other team members who promptly confronted him.
After being accused of enticing a minor, Conkright was apprehended and transported to the Linn County Correctional Center.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 3rd at 8:30 a.m.
