Driver arrested for DUI following collision near Walmart
Marcus Wright, a 39-year-old African American man, was taken into custody on charges of driving under the influence when a police officer spotted his car on Willow Lane, close to Walmart.
Greenville Police Chief Justin Lovvorn stated that Wright was taken into custody following a single-vehicle collision on November 25th. The car Wright was operating collided with a culvert located behind Car Wash USA Express, resulting in minimal damage to the culvert.
The officers from the Greenville Police Department observed that Wright seemed to be affected by a controlled substance and proceeded to conduct field sobriety tests. Unfortunately, Wright did not pass the tests, indicating that he was indeed under the influence of alcohol.
After the arrest, he was taken into custody smoothly and placed in the Butler County Jail. Currently, Wright has been released on bond.
