In three southern states, Diet Coke, Fanta, and Sprite were recalled
When stocking up on beverages for a holiday party or family gathering, residents of Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi should pay attention to the label on their soda cans.
The United States Food and Drug Administration has issued a recall of products manufactured by United Packers, LLC, including 12-oz. aluminum cans of Diet Coke, Fanta Orange, and Sprite. The soda cans may contain foreign materials and have been removed from store shelves and distributors. The recall covers 417 Diet Coke cases, 14 Fanta Orange cases, and 1,557 Sprite cases sold in Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi. Here are some UPC numbers and best-by dates to keep an eye out for:
- 12 pack fridge pack of 12-oz. aluminum cans of Diet Coke. Lot No. JAN2924MBD3 UPC: 49000028911 Best By: January 29th, 24th.
- 12 pack fridge pack of Fanta Orange 12-oz aluminum cans. JUL2924MBD3 Lot No. 49000030730 UPC: 49000030730 Best by: July 29th, 24.
- Sprite is available in 12-oz. aluminum cans in a 12-pack fridge pack. JUL2924MBD3 Lot No. 49000028928 UPC: 49000028928 Best by: July 29th, 24.
The recall started in early November. If you have any of the recalled Coke cans in your house, the FDA advises you to return them to the place of purchase or throw them away right away to avoid any potential injury from foreign elements.
