Lyndhurst Detectives Catch Local Couple in Home Burglary Bust

According to Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri, on Monday, Nov. 15, Daniel Soto, aged 22, and Nicolette Greco, aged 25, were unaware of Lyndhurst Police Detective Chris Cuneo’s presence as they scoped out an empty home on Kingsland Avenue at around 10 p.m.

According to the lieutenant, Detective Nick Abruscato had teamed up with Cuneo. As they made their way around the side of the house, they briefly disappeared from view.

Auteri said that the detectives trailed along and discovered a damaged basement window.

According to him, Soto and Greco were apprehended without any resistance when they introduced themselves.

Soto and the other person involved were accused of committing the crimes of burglary and criminal mischief. Soto faced additional charges of identity theft and receiving stolen property.

According to records, the police had sent him and Greco to the Bergen County Jail. However, the following day, a judge ordered their release under New Jersey’s 2017 bail reform law.
