Man killed in traffic accident close to McKenzie
On Friday, a tragic traffic accident occurred near McKenzie, losing one man’s life and injuring another.
On September 29th, Brian Paul Walton, aged 60, tragically lost his life in a two-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 31, five miles north of McKenzie City Limits in Butler County. The incident occurred at approximately 10:01 a.m. and involved a parked 2021 Lexus NX3. Mr Walton was a passenger struck by a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Tre’Lyn Tysean Kent, aged 22, from McKenzie. Sadly, Mr. Walton sustained fatal injuries in the accident.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) troopers swiftly arrived at the location where Walton was declared deceased.
According to ALEA Senior Trooper Kendra McKinney, Kent was taken to Andalusia Health for medical treatment.
The investigation of the unfortunate incident is ongoing, and further information is not yet available. The Troopers from ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are working diligently to gather all the necessary information to clarify the situation.
