Ron DeSantis agrees with a supporter who believes RFK should have Secret Service protection
Inquiring about the Governor’s security arrangements, a man from Manchester referenced a presidential assassination that took place in 1968.
During a recent event in New Hampshire, Ron DeSantis engaged with his supporters and expressed agreement with one man’s opinion that a Republican presidential candidate should be entitled to Secret Service protection.
During his Never Back Down town hall event, DeSantis acknowledged that, as the Governor of Florida, he was entitled to a detail under state law. He also shared the opinion of a gentleman in attendance who pointed out that the last assassination of a presidential candidate was that of Robert F. Kennedy, Sr. more than 55 years ago. The gentleman further opined that RFK Jr. was a prominent enough candidate to warrant similar protection.
“He’s so corrupt and not doing what he ought to do,” exclaimed the speaker, urging for President Joe Biden to be held accountable.
DeSantis responded with positive affirmations, stating “great” and “I agree,” in an effort to steer the conversation away from that particular topic.
