Breaking News: Smash and Grab Attacks Target 20 Pharmacies
Cops said the same gang robbed 20 establishments in Brooklyn and Queens, spanning 12 NYPD precincts from Flushing, Queens to Bayridge, Brooklyn.
Surveillance video from inside one of the pharmacies was shared by investigators. A car comes up outside the medicine store in the video. Men exit and rush to the glass front entrance. To gain entry, one of the team members smashes and removes the glass with a hammer.
The couple is then shown wandering through pharmacies, picking up medications off the shelves. The crooks followed the same smash and grab strategy in each case, according to cops.
Males clothed in black hoodies, face masks, and black jeans are the suspects. Both were dressed in surgical gloves.
The robbers were said to have fled in a black SUV in several situations. A gray BMW was claimed to have been utilized as a getaway car in other cases.
Anyone with information about this event is asked to contact the New York Police Department’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
