Ax-Wielding Man Pepper Sprayed By NJ Transit Police In Hoboken

According to New Jersey Transit police, a man by the name of Joseph Dietz from Hillsborough was reportedly chasing after another man while wielding a camping-style ax in an aggressive manner.

According to the authorities, the police officers placed themselves in the middle of Dietz and the man who was running away.

According to police reports, Dietz was unwilling to let go of the ax, which led to officers having to use pepper spray to calm him down. Fortunately, Dietz was eventually apprehended and the ax was successfully retrieved. He has since been charged with several offenses, including unlawful possession of a weapon, aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. Currently, he is being held at the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
