Suspected DUI Hit-and-Run Crash in Orange Claims Lives of 2 Pedestrians
Police apprehended a driver under suspicion of driving while intoxicated following a hit-and-run accident in Orange that resulted in the death of two individuals.
An occurrence took place around 8 p.m. on Thursday at North Shattuck Place, close to the 55 Freeway, as per a report.
According to investigators, Humberto Flores, who was 26 years old, collided with a parked Chevy Silverado while driving a Ford F-250.
According to the authorities, the driver hit two men who were standing close to the Chevy. Sadly, both of them lost their lives at the scene.
Manuel Ortiz has been identified by family and friends as one of the victims.
Ortiz and Maria Grant have been close friends for nearly three decades.
Grant spoke highly of him and emphasized that he had set his expectations high for you. However, he was always available to lend an ear or assist you with anything you needed, regardless of the time.

According to her, he was a diligent individual who had a passion for cars and wholeheartedly devoted himself to his five children and grandchildren.
Grant expressed his heartbreak over the fact that the life of the person in question ended due to a drunk driver. He admired the person’s determination to keep going despite the challenges they faced.
Grant mentioned that on Thanksgiving, one should ideally spend time with their family, enjoying a good meal or engaging in other activities. However, he felt inclined to make someone’s day by returning their truck, which he had been working on.
According to authorities, Flores made a hasty escape on foot. However, he was apprehended soon after by law enforcement.
The accused is confronted with various charges, which include two instances of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, DUI causing death, and leaving the accident site.
The families of those who lost their loved ones due to drunk driving are urging the community to reconsider their decision of driving after consuming alcohol.
