Western New York to experience heavy rain followed by minor snow accumulations
BUFFALO, N.Y. — The next two days will be lovely by December standards before our weather returns to normal.
Friday’s highs will be around 50 degrees, with partly to mostly sunny skies. Saturday’s highs will be near 60 degrees, over 20 degrees above average. As low-pressure moves in, rain is likely Saturday night into Sunday.
Sunday will see heavy rain, with breezy winds. Highs in the mid to low 50s, with temps decreasing later in the day.
As a cold front approaches, colder air will move in. Rain will turn to snow Sunday evening and continue into Monday morning, with a few inches possible. Expect a sluggish Monday morning commute due to snow on the roadways in most areas. There may be some lake-effect snow as well, although it appears to be limited at this time.
