NYPD: 3 women Seek after 2 cab drivers robbed at gunpoint
New York – The NYPD is currently on the lookout for three women who are believed to be involved in the armed robbery of two cab drivers, one in Midtown and the other in the Bronx.
The police have shared pictures of these women in the hopes that someone might recognize them. The women are believed to be involved in two separate incidents where taxi drivers were robbed.
In the early hours of Tuesday, a disturbing incident unfolded at Grand Central Terminal. Three women reportedly brandished a firearm and threatened a 60-year-old cab driver. Their demand was simple: hand over your cell phone. After the driver complied, the women swiftly exited the taxi and disappeared into the bustling Grand Central-42nd Street subway station.
Around 3 a.m., the trio hailed a cab and headed to the Fordham Heights neighborhood of the Bronx. After reaching Ryer Avenue and 180th Street, the women brandished a gun and demanded the 59-year-old driver’s phone and wallet, which contained approximately $200 in cash. They swiftly fled the scene after obtaining the items.
