Charges have been filed after a bag containing cocaine was discovered at a Kansas City bus stop
An Ohio man is accused of traveling on a bus through Kansas City while in possession of methamphetamine.
Rogeric Romone Clark, 39, was charged with one count of having methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
Members of a drugs task force were at a Kansas City bus station when Clark arrived on a bus from Los Angeles, according to the affidavit. Clark’s suitcase was discovered by a drug-sniffing canine working with the authorities.
Clark attempted to flee as the detectives opened the suitcase. During the foot chase, he collapsed and was apprehended by authorities.
Officers searched Clark’s two luggage. According to court filings, they discovered 30 one-pound bundles of meth stashed in each luggage.
According to the affidavit, Clark informed detectives he was expected to collect $10,000 for transporting illegal substances to Akron, Ohio.
Clark is being held in federal custody pending a detention hearing. The hearing has not been scheduled, according to prosecutors.
