Secretary of State Adrian Fontes announces plan to implement ballot tracking by text for all Arizona voters by 2024
Arizona Secretary of State, Adrian Fontes, has announced that a new statewide system will be implemented in the upcoming year. This system will allow voters to receive text notifications regarding the status of their ballots, including when they are being sent out and when they have been received.
He campaigned to bring similar services, like those available in Maricopa and Pima counties, to all of Arizona.
Fontes is eager to test the system in the upcoming months.
According to him, “We might have the opportunity to beta test it for the Presidential Preference Election, but it will definitely be fully functional and operational by the General in November 2024.”
Fontes must release the Elections Procedures Manual by December 31st. This manual contains guidelines for counties on how to conduct elections.
