Sources report that around 8:20 p.m., a woman was sitting outside her home on East 29th Street near Avenue D in Flatbush when a stray bullet hit her in the forehead. Authorities are investigating the incident and have determined that the woman was an innocent bystander.
After the incident, she was transported to the Kings County Hospital Center for medical attention. Thankfully, her condition was stable upon arrival.
It is still not clear what motivated the gunfire that occurred on Wednesday.
According to police, the recent outbreak of violence in New York City continued with another incident occurring just days after a 71-year-old woman was tragically killed and stray bullets in the Bronx wounded a 34-year-old woman.
