West Covina police searching for hit-and-run driver who killed 72-year-old man.
Authorities in West Covina are still on the hunt for the individual responsible for a hit-and-run incident that occurred over a month ago, resulting in the death of a 72-year-old man. Despite ongoing efforts to locate the driver, they have yet to be apprehended.
The authorities have hit a dead end and are seeking the assistance of the general public in locating the perpetrator.
On the evening of August 28th, there was a crash that occurred and it was recorded on surveillance footage.
At approximately 8:30 p.m., Victor Sanchez was struck by a vehicle while crossing the northbound lanes of Glendora Avenue near Vine Avenue, according to the West Covina police.
Sadly, despite being immediately transported to Pomona Valley Hospital for treatment, the victim ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
Sgt. Steven Spagon of the West Covina police force provided a description of the suspect’s vehicle, which he stated was either a silver or white SUV. According to Spagon, the driver immediately fled from the scene of the incident.

According to the police, the case is now a felony hit-and-run as the driver fled the scene of the accident. Had the driver stopped to help Sanchez, the incident would have been considered an accident.
