Advisory Issues as Far Northern California Faces Wind Gusts Up to 65 MPH

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for certain areas in Northern Humboldt, which will impact the Northern Humboldt Coast, Northern Humboldt Interior, and Southern Humboldt Interior.

Southeast winds are expected to pick up speed from 1 AM to 4 PM PST on Wednesday. These winds could reach speeds of 25 to 35 mph, with gusts possibly reaching up to 50 mph.

Gusts in high elevation and exposed areas have the potential to reach an impressive 65 mph.

The advisory cautions about the potential effects, which may include unsecured objects being blown around and the likelihood of tree limbs falling, resulting in a few power outages.

The highest winds are forecasted to be limited to elevated ridges and coastal headlands that are exposed to the south and east.

It is important for residents to be cautious, particularly when operating high-profile vehicles, and to ensure that outdoor objects are secured to avoid any potential hazards.
