Alabama Corrections Department reports that a murder suspect passes away in jail after “exhibiting erratic behavior.”
According to the state Department of Corrections, an inmate who was serving a life sentence for murder passed away in an Alabama prison on Wednesday. The inmate had been displaying erratic behavior leading up to their death.
DeMarcus McCloud, a 45-year-old individual, was observed entering the dining hall of the Limestone Correctional Facility, displaying unusual behavior that necessitated intervention by the facility’s officers.
McCloud, who committed murder in Calhoun County, was brought to the prison’s health care unit for an assessment.
McCloud became unresponsive after the assessment, according to the agency.
Efforts were made to save a life, but unfortunately, they were unsuccessful.
