Body of missing Idaho infant discovered near road; father arrested
According to a statement from the police, the man was reported to be naked and making unusual statements by the caller.
Jeremy Albert Best, the man wanted in the alert issued on Friday by the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office on suspicion of kidnapping a child in Teton County, has been identified.
Authorities discovered Best’s vehicle in a ditch by the road and made a heartbreaking discovery – the lifeless body of the baby at the scene. According to a news release from the office, the Idaho State Police and the FBI were called in to assist with processing the area. The investigation into this tragic incident is still underway.
The authorities were also searching for the man in connection with the investigation into the tragic death of his wife, Kali Jean Randall. Her lifeless body was discovered in their Victor home on Thursday. The Teton County Sheriff’s Office, in a Facebook post, stated that they were treating Randall’s death as a homicide.
According to a report by CBS affiliate KBOI-TV, the scene is currently being processed and the crime is still under investigation by Bonneville County detectives, Idaho State Police, and the Teton County Sheriff’s Office.
Best is currently in custody at Bonneville County Jail and will continue to be held there until his arraignment, according to authorities. The jail, when contacted on Saturday evening, was unable to confirm if a defense attorney had been assigned to his case and could speak on his behalf.
In a statement, the police expressed their condolences to the family of the victims involved in this case.
