According to the West Covina Police Department, two males entered Big Bob’s Liquors and Market on West Puente Avenue in West Covina just before 9 p.m. with the intention of stealing items. During their robbery attempt, a shooting occurred.

According to officials, after the shooting took place, witnesses quickly rushed to help the victim and dialed 911 for assistance. Meanwhile, the perpetrators made a run for it in a light-colored SUV of an unspecified make and model.

The West Covina Police Department is currently on the lookout for two individuals who are believed to be Hispanic males in their late teens to early twenties. The police have described these two young men as persons of interest and are urging anyone with any information on their whereabouts to come forward and provide any assistance that they can. Singh was the brother-in-law of the store owner and had recently moved to the United States to work and save money to bring his wife and young son over from India.
