Car driver charged after motorcyclist injured in Egg Harbor, NJ collision
On Saturday evening in Egg Harbor Township, a motorcyclist suffered severe injuries in an accident, while the driver of a car involved in the incident was charged with DWI.
The accident occurred shortly before 5:30 on the Black Horse Pike at Silver Avenue, approximately half a mile to the west of Uibel Avenue.
An investigation conducted by the Egg Harbor Township Police Department revealed that Mona Cole of Egg Harbor Township was driving a 2004 Volvo eastbound on the Black Horse Pike. At the intersection with Silver Avenue, the vehicle came to a halt as Cole attempted to make a northbound turn onto Silver.
According to a press release,
As Cole conducted a left hand turn onto Silver Avenue, she pulled out directly in front of a 2007 Harley Davidson being operated by Thomas Hasenauer (Little Egg Harbor) who was traveling west bound on the Black Horse Pike.
Hasenauer tried to brake and swerve, but unfortunately, his motorcycle collided with the rear passenger side of Cole’s car. This impact led to him being thrown off the bike.

After the crash, Hasenauer suffered severe injuries and was immediately rushed to the Trauma Unit at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.
Cole emerged from the accident unharmed.
Cole received several motor vehicle summonses, including a charge for driving while intoxicated. In addition, she was also charged with assault by auto.
The authorities conducted an investigation and cleared the crash, resulting in the closure of the Black Horse Pike for approximately two hours.
