Chilling footage shows YouTuber Hassan Campbell being transported to hospital after being shot live
According to police reports, popular YouTuber Hassan Campbell was shot in broad daylight while filming a live stream near an apartment building in New York City.
According to The U.S. Sun, the New York City Police Department has confirmed that the individual was hit in one of their shoulders and proceeded to seek medical attention on their own.
With a massive following of more than 450,000 subscribers on YouTube, Campbell first made headlines in 2016 when he came forward with allegations of sexual abuse against American DJ Afrika Bambaataa during his childhood.
During a live stream on Sunday morning, he seemed noticeably upset as he shared details about the lawsuit that Cassie had filed against hip hop icon P Diddy.
As he stood outside the Bronx River Houses, Campbell couldn’t help but go on a passionate rant about the allegations. The topic hit close to home for him, as it reminded him of his own personal experience. As he spoke, his emotions began to escalate and he became more and more upset.
During the lifestream, he expressed that his supposed experiences wouldn’t become popular because “nobody cares about the kids in the hood.”
“I have no respect for the industry. Are you telling me that my life experiences and the pain I have endured are worth nothing?”
As the stream progressed, he began to shout in public and dared anyone who was watching to fight him, while the locals strolled around the plaza.
Suddenly, the scene changed and he was now seen sitting at the back of a car, urgently requesting the driver to take him to the hospital.
“I have to reach the hospital fast. I’m shot, son, and I need to go to the hospital,” he exclaimed urgently.
According to The U.S. Sun, the NYPD reported that Campbell sustained a single gunshot wound to his shoulder. The YouTuber himself posted an update stating that he was scheduled for surgery but assured his followers that he would eventually make a full recovery.
Authorities are still unable to determine the perpetrator involved in the shooting incident.
Bambaataa has been accused of abuse by several Bronx men, including Campbell.
At the forefront of the 1980s hip-hop scene, Bambaataa, a 66-year-old rapper and producer, gained recognition for his innovative introduction of an electric style.
In May 2016, a Bronx activist group accused him of sexually abusing children dating back to the 1970s, causing his name to become associated with controversy.
During that time, Campbell accused Bambaataa of being a “pervert” who had an attraction towards young boys, as he revealed to the New York Daily News.
The rapper has refuted all accusations made against him, and currently, there are no charges pressed against him.
