Court Date Set for Former Alabama Police Officer Being Held Without Bond

In November 2023, a woman visited a local clinic in Alabama and reported that she had been assaulted by a police officer during a routine traffic stop. Given that the incident took place while the officer, Jarrod Webster, was on duty, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was called in to assist with the case.

According to WAFF, within a week, he was apprehended and charged with r**e and s****y. When he appeared in court, Webster opted to plead not guilty to the allegations.

On November 20, 2023, Webster tendered his resignation letter, which was subsequently approved by the mayor and council members. According to Radio 7 Media, Webster has been held without bond in the county jail since his arrest on November 17, 2023.

According to a report by WAFF, the next hearing date for the case has been scheduled for December 15, 2023, in court.
