CPD reports shooting of 16-year-old girl inside car at Little Village gas station in Chicago
On Tuesday morning, a gas station in the Southwest Side was the site of a tragic incident in which a 16-year-old girl was shot and left in critical condition. Her life now hangs in the balance as she fights for survival.
In surveillance footage from a nearby business, gunshots can be heard echoing loudly. Despite the limited coverage, the BP gas station, where the shooting incident occurred, was able to capture some footage.
According to the manager, he provided the police with surveillance footage to identify the individual responsible for shooting the girl at around 2 a.m. ABC7 reported this incident.
According to authorities, the source of the multiple gunshots originated from within a black SUV that quickly fled the scene.
The individual was transported to Mt. Sinai Medical Center in a critical state.
The events that led up to the shooting and the intended target remain unclear.
The case is still under investigation by Area Four detectives, and as of now, no one has been taken into custody.
