Investigation underway for fatal motorcycle crash on I-25 in Colorado Springs
Colorado Springs Police reported that a fatal crash led to the closure of sections of a busy interstate on Saturday.
The crash occurred around 1:15 p.m. on I-25 near the Woodmen exit, as reported by CSPD. Police have confirmed that at least one motorcycle was involved in the incident, resulting in the unfortunate death of one person.
The cause of the crash is currently being investigated and the highway has been reopened.
According to the police’s online blotter, witnesses report that the motorcycle was speeding and passing vehicles while heading southbound on I-25. Sadly, the rider lost control and crashed near exit 149, resulting in their ejection into the center median. The motorcycle itself continued traveling southbound before finally coming to a stop in the center northbound lane of I-25.
The identities of those involved have not been publicly disclosed.
