1. McKees Rocks

Despite having a population of just 5,920, the city’s crime rate is alarmingly high at 6,409 per 100,000, making it 173% more dangerous than the national average. Shockingly, the city witnessed 106 violent crimes and 262 property crimes in 2022, which are significantly high figures considering the city’s small population.
2. Darby
Darby, located in Pennsylvania, has gained a reputation for being one of the most dangerous cities in the state. The high crime rate is alarming, with 152 murders reported in 2021 alone and a property crime rate of 4,625 incidents per 100,000 people. The chances of becoming a victim of any crime are high, with residents having a 1 in 22 case of falling prey. Moreover, the city’s poverty rate is disproportionately high, with residents earning an average of less than $35,000 annually.
3. Chester
Chester, a city located just outside of Philadelphia in Delaware County, is known to be one of the most dangerous cities in Pennsylvania. With a population of 32,605 people, Chester has a reputation for being a place with high crime rates and political corruption. Despite its proximity to Philadelphia, Chester consistently ranks among the worst cities to live in the United States.
According to recent statistics, the crime rate in Chester is 116% higher than the state average, with 4,389 crimes per 100,000 people. In 2021, the median home price in Chester is just $66,800, significantly lower than the state average.
4. McKeesport
Located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, McKeesport is a city known for its high crime rate. With a population of 17,727, the town has a total crime rate of 4,291 incidents per 100,000 people. 10. Johnstown
With a population of 18,411, Johnstown has a crime rate that is 68% higher than the Pennsylvania state average. The city’s total crime rate is 3,417 per 100,000 people, meaning residents have a 1 in 30 chance of falling victim to any crime. The city experiences around 251 violent crimes and 558 property crimes yearly. The median household income in Johnstown is only $24,075, which is 56% lower than the national average.
