According to the Kansas City police, two drivers had a head-on collision in downtown Kansas City on Sunday.
At approximately 5:56 a.m., an individual driving a Kia was traveling in the wrong direction on Interstate 35, just south of Front Street.
As per the reports, the Kia was hit by the Nissan driver who was travelling in the southbound direction, which was the correct lane.
The crash claimed the lives of both drivers, with no other passengers present in the vehicles.
Southbound traffic on I-35 was brought to a halt for around three and a half hours as authorities closed all lanes of the highway at Front Street. However, the highway has now been reopened.
