Multiple people hospitalized after 7-vehicle crash on Belt Parkway, say police
A collision involving seven vehicles took place on the eastbound side of the Belt Parkway, resulting in several individuals being hospitalized. Reports indicate that at least six people required medical attention following the incident, which occurred on a Saturday.
According to the police, the series of events leading to the accident started at approximately 9:30 p.m. when a car suddenly veered to the right and collided with another vehicle in the middle lane, causing it to crash into a car on the left side of the road.
According to authorities, a Honda traveling at a high speed collided with the car that was thrown into westbound traffic, resulting in a T-bone accident. The occupants of the Honda sustained injuries as a result of the collision.
Police reported that three additional vehicles collided with each other behind the Honda.
According to officials, the individual who caused the series of collisions by swerving abruptly left the scene. The police and highway patrol are currently on the lookout for the driver while simultaneously working to clear the debris from the road.
