New Jersey Man Receives 28 Tickets, Charges, and a Wrecked Car After High-Speed Chase in Goshen
During an intense police pursuit in Goshen, New Jersey, Justin Cedeno, a 20-year-old from Plainfield, was spotted by a trooper from SP Middletown driving a 2012 Mazda 3 at high speeds on October 1, 2023. To evade the fighter, Cedeno led the authorities on a 30-minute chase.
The chase eventually led to Fletcher Street, Cheechunk Road, and 6 1/2 Station Road in Goshen. The pursuit ended when Cedeno’s car collided with a railroad tie and sustained severe damage. Cedeno revealed that he fled because he believed his license had been suspended.
After reviewing Cedeno’s license, the trooper confirmed its validity. However, Cedeno was still faced with misdemeanours for reckless driving and fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle 3rd degree. These charges stemmed from his reckless attempt to evade the trooper and his irresponsible driving behaviour.
In addition to facing misdemeanour charges, Cedeno was issued 28 tickets related to the incident. The Village and Town of Goshen Courts will handle all orders and tickets. Cedeno’s actions resulted in severe legal consequences and significant damage to the vehicle involved.
