Police are probing the death of a woman in Burlington
A woman was discovered deceased on Elm Street in Burlington.
Burlington Police Officers were summoned to a residence in the 1000 block of Elm St., Burlington, at approximately 9:59 p.m., for an unresponsive female.
Officers arrived to find a deceased female victim who looked to have received a single gunshot wound.
The facts and circumstances of this case are currently being investigated.
An autopsy is scheduled for December 6, but no further information will be published until then.
The Burlington Police Department feels this incident poses no immediate threat to the community.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting the Burlington Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division in its investigation.
