Serious injuries reported after rear-end collision on I-70, victims transported to KC hospital
Two women sustained serious injuries and were transported to a hospital in the Kansas City area following a collision with another vehicle on I-70 in Wyandotte County, Kansas.
According to the Crash Log of the Kansas Highway Patrol, emergency crews responded to a 2-vehicle crash at approximately 10:15 p.m. on Friday, November 24th. The incident occurred near mile marker 413.6 on eastbound I-70 in Wyandotte Co.
When the first responders arrived at the scene, they discovered that Brad B. Hayes, a 30-year-old resident of Clifton Heights, Pennsylvania, was driving a 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue. He was traveling in the right lane, following a 2021 Nissan Versa driven by Valleshia M. Zachary, a 62-year-old resident of Lansing.
According to KHP, Hayes unexpectedly collided with the back of Zachary’s Nissan.
Zachary and her passenger, Lolita Williams, 51, from Kansas City, Missouri, were both rushed to AdventHealth by first responders. They are suspected to have suffered serious injuries. Fortunately, Hayes managed to escape the crash unharmed.
According to KHP, all individuals involved in the crash were wearing seatbelts.
