Suspect Released On Bail For Murder Arrested For Texas City Robbery
A recent incident occurred in Texas City where the local police department arrested a man on September 1st for robbery. This case is interesting because the suspect was out on bond for a murder charge at the time of the arrest. The Texas City Police Department handled the situation professionally and efficiently.
On August 27 at approximately 3:20 a.m., a robbery occurred at a gas station on the 1800 block of 25th Avenue North. The authorities were notified and immediately dispatched to the scene to investigate the incident. A corresponding report was subsequently filed.
After a thorough investigation, authorities positively identified the perpetrator behind the crime as Dayton Andre Booker, aged 23. Subsequently, a warrant for his arrest was issued. Unfortunately, due to an outstanding murder charge from May of 2021, Booker was not granted a bond for the robbery offence.
Booker was eventually located by the United States Marshals Galveston County Violent Offender Task Force, and the police were able to arrest him. On September 1st at approximately 10:30 a.m., officers took him into custody at an apartment in the 3400 block of 9th Avenue North.
After being arrested, he was held at the Texas City Jail before being transferred to the Galveston County Jail.
