Principal Jason Branham shared in a statement that the school’s site leadership team received the heartbreaking news of Julius Poppinga’s sudden passing. Julius, who was an 11th grade student and a member of the Warrior Football and Lacrosse teams at Westlake High School, will be deeply missed.
After experiencing respiratory issues, the teenager, who was a defensive end for the school’s football team, was admitted to the hospital.
