Woman found shot to death in burning home in Montgomery
A Montgomery woman was discovered dead inside her burning residence, prompting an investigation.
Sunday at 5:30 a.m., Montgomery police and fire medics responded to Jacqueline Best’s home in the 3500 block of Fairground Road in response to a fire report.
The mother and grandmother, Best, age 39, was found dead inside. Wednesday, police Major Saba Coleman stated that an autopsy revealed she was shot.
The investigation is ongoing, according to the police, and no arrests have been made.
The death of Best has devastated her family.
Daughter Jasmine Freeman remarked, “My mother was the kind of woman who could walk through a room and fill it with laughter.” “My mother was my hero through it all.”
“I simply want to know how and why this happened to her,” Freeman stated. “I’m just so thankful to call Jacqueline Marie Best my mother and my hero.”
