Authorities have taken 12 individuals into custody based on 37 warrants
According to the latest reports, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has taken into custody a dozen individuals following multiple complaints of drug activity and camping near Dorchester Park on Sunday, Nov. 12.
At around 8 a.m., CSPD received a call regarding a possible incident at 1130 South Nevada Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene, officers took into custody 14 individuals who were suspected of camping and starting a fire. For those who were apprehended for the first time, two of them were given verbal warnings.
Twelve individuals were apprehended on various Felony and Misdemeanor warrants, with some receiving extra charges. Two Felony Warrants were successfully resolved by the officers. The first was for Douglas Spaulding, who faced felony drug charges. The second was for Christopher Lewis, who had a warrant out for a bank robbery that took place in North Carolina.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), a total of 35 misdemeanor warrants were cleared out.
During the recent incident, law enforcement officials apprehended an individual for the serious offense of Felony Possession of a Scheduled II controlled substance. Additionally, two individuals were cited for Interference/Obstruction, while one person was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Financial Transaction Device. Moreover, four Fire Citations and Two Camping Citations were issued. The authorities also recovered Drug Paraphernalia and 1.2 grams of Fentanyl.
