Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones, Former NFL Star, Arrested for Severe Offenses
Adam “Pacman” Jones, a former NFL star, was taken into custody at Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport on Monday (September 11).
According to Boone County Jail Captain Kevin Klute, Jones, aged 39, has been charged with intoxication and terroristic threatening. Mindy Kershner, spokesperson for CVG, confirmed that the former NFL cornerback was apprehended just before the scheduled outbound flight. WCPO reported the news.
According to reports, airport authorities were alerted about a disruptive passenger at 6:00 a.m. local time. The person in question was identified as Jones, who was released from jail earlier that morning. When asked about the incident, Jones explained that the situation arose from a request to change seats on the plane due to a problem with his phone charger. He adamantly denied any allegations of being intoxicated. Jones spoke to local reporters from Cincinnati outside the detention facility.
When questioned about the charges against him, Jones retorted, “Do I seem intoxicated to you? I’ve only been in custody for two hours.”
While en route to the Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets game for Monday Night Football, Jones, an NFL analyst for the renowned Pat McAfee Show, revealed that he had a past of arrests during his playing career. Despite this, he firmly stated that the recent incident leading to his charges was unjustified.
Jones defended himself by stating that it would be a different story if he were causing trouble or engaging in foolish activities. He emphasized that he stands for honesty, respect, and integrity and will always walk the talk. Jones firmly stated that he does not believe in kissing up to anyone or compromising his values. He acknowledged that he had made a mistake by informing the flight attendant that the seat charger was not working for his iPad. However, he questioned whether this action warranted such a negative response, especially considering that he had purchased two seats and the incident occurred at 6:30 in the morning.
Jones posted a video on his X account where he can be seen walking through CVG shortly before he was arrested.
During the 2005 NFL Draft, Jones was put on probation due to a physical altercation that occurred during his time at West Virginia University. Additionally, he faced charges related to a shooting at a strip club in Las Vegas and was involved in several other incidents.
Jones, a former standout at West Virginia, was drafted by the Tennessee Titans as the sixth overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft. However, he was later traded to the Dallas Cowboys in 2008. After a brief stint with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2009, he played for eight seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals from 2010 to 2017 and then joined the Denver Broncos for one season in 2018 before retiring in 2019. It’s worth noting that during his time with the Titans, they passed on DeAndre Hopkins during free agency, as revealed by the player himself.
