The Covington County Sheriff’s Office is looking into a shooting that injured one person Thursday afternoon.
According to Sheriff Blake Turman, one individual was injured in the incident and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The incident occurred on Prestwood Bridge Road near Rabren Road, and law enforcement responded. According to Turman, those involved in the event have been identified and interviewed. Although no arrests have been made, a possible suspect has been identified. According to Turman, the situation is still being investigated.
“The community is safe and there is no danger from this incident. Our deputies were diligent and located the suspect within an hour of the incident,” the sheriff said.
Turman expressed gratitude to the Andalusia Police Department for its assistance. He stated that APD traffic cameras were used to assist in identifying the vehicle involved.
