Certain Buffalo Bills Fans Will Miss Saturday’s Game

The Buffalo Bills’ pursuit of a playoff spot continues this Saturday, but unfortunately, there are certain individuals in Western New York who will be unable to enjoy the game from the comfort of their own homes.

The upcoming Bills game against the LA Chargers will be available for streaming on Peacock, as well as being broadcasted locally on WGRZ Channel 2.

Some members of Bills Mafia are currently facing an issue with Channel 2’s parent company Tegna. As of now, Direct TV has removed Channel 2 from its lineup due to an ongoing rate battle between the two companies.

WGRZ-TV, owned by Tegna, is the sole local TV News station in New York State. It holds the distinction of being the second-highest rated News Station in the Buffalo metro area.

Direct-TV and Tegna are currently at odds over the fee that Direct-TV pays to broadcast Tegna-owned stations on their platform. This disagreement has resulted in approximately 5 million viewers across the nation being affected by the channels being pulled from Direct-TV.

TV viewers in Western New York have found themselves caught in the middle of a rate dispute before. Just last October, Verizon users experienced a blackout of WIVB Channel 4 due to a rate dispute between the two companies involved.

Hopefully, the dispute will be resolved prior to the Bills’ match against the Chargers on December 23rd.
