Customers of Family Dollar can receive a $25 gift card as part of a class action settlement
Residents of Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee who made purchases at Family Dollar during the pandemic may qualify for a $25 Family Dollar gift card. This settlement comes after the discovery of a rat-infested warehouse in the Mid-South in 2022.
A lawsuit was filed against Family Dollar’s branches in six Southern states in October due to a pest infestation. Recently, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee announced a settlement regarding this matter.
In February 2022, the FDA discovered that there was a rat infestation at the West Memphis Distribution Center in Arkansas, which is operated by Family Dollar.
According to the lawsuit, the company allegedly sold products that may have been contaminated at specific stores from January 1, 2020, to February 18, 2022.
According to court documents, both Family Dollar and the plaintiffs reached a settlement to avoid the expenses and uncertainties associated with a trial.
Family Dollar is offering a $25 gift card to eligible households upon submission and approval of a claim form. Each qualifying shopper will receive one gift card with a value of $25.
