Four individuals were robbed at gunpoint upon exiting a Mississippi casino.
In Warren County, Mississippi, a group of four individuals managed to survive an armed robbery. The incident occurred after they departed from a casino in Vicksburg and were on their way back to Hattiesburg.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, just before 2 a.m. near Bovina on I-20.
According to Sheriff Martin Pace, the individuals had made a stop at a business in Bovina and were returning to the interstate, heading eastbound. Unfortunately, during their return, they were involved in a minor traffic accident with another vehicle.
According to the sheriff, a heavy-set Black male, who stood between 5’7″ to 5’9″, approached their vehicle holding a handgun. The suspect was the lone occupant of the other vehicle.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries in the incident. However, the car involved in the event has been impounded as evidence.
According to Sheriff Pace of Warren County, the suspect got into a dark-colored sedan and drove towards Hinds County after the incident. It is not known if the victim and the suspect had any contact before the encounter. The investigation team is currently reviewing security footage from various locations where the victims were prior to the incident. The authorities have also been in touch with Hinds County officials as the suspect was last spotted heading towards the county line. Sheriff Pace has assured that he will provide updates as soon as they become available, as reported by the Vicksburg Daily News.
