Indiana Authorities Find Abducted Girl Safe in Wisconsin

Sheriff Michael Peterson has reported that on December 30, 2023, the Iowa County Communications Center received a notification regarding a vehicle at Kwik Trip in Barneveld, which was involved in an Indiana Silver Alert for the abduction of an 11-year-old female in Indiana. The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office was informed that the occupants of the vehicle were potentially armed. As the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office was en route to Barneveld, it was relayed that the vehicle was moving through the Township of Dodgeville on USH 18/151.

The Dodgeville Police Department received a call for assistance from the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office. They quickly responded and found the vehicle heading south on USH 18/151.

The vehicle was subjected to a traffic stop by the Dodgeville Police Department and Iowa County Sheriff’s Office.

The authorities successfully rescued the 11-year-old child from the vehicle, while three adults were apprehended.

Three individuals were arrested in connection with a Kidnapping of a Minor case in Wells County, Indiana. The arrested individuals include Zachary Delozier, a 27-year-old resident from Edgemont, South Dakota, Sara Gaudino, a 23-year-old individual from Rapid City, South Dakota, and Isaiah Schyvers, a 24-year-old also from Rapid City, South Dakota. The arrest was made based on existing warrants.

The incident is currently being investigated by detectives from the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office and agents from the Wisconsin Department of Justice-DCI. The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from the Dodgeville Police Department, Mineral Point Police Department, Wisconsin Department of Justice-DCI, Iowa County Social Services, and Iowa County Highway Department.

Iowa County Sheriff states “I can’t thank everyone enough. Being out there with this great group of professionals, watching all these agencies come together, taking these three adults into custody quickly, and removing this 11 year old female from this situation so she can return to her family is an amazing feeling. Thank you for making a difference in our communities.”

We will not provide any further comments at this time as the investigation is still ongoing.

It is important to remember that everyone who has been arrested or given a citation is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
