According to a report by KTRK-TV, first responders pronounced the man dead when they arrived at the scene. The police have not yet confirmed the man’s identity.
On Sunday, Houston Police announced on their official Twitter account that they are investigating a suspicious death at 10800 St. Mary’s Lane. The tweet stated that Westside officers are currently on the scene and that Homicide Detectives are on their way to investigate.
Residents of the quiet neighbourhood were left shocked upon hearing about the recent incident in their community. Cesar Rincon, who has lived on St. Mary’s Lane for 18 years, expressed his disbelief by saying, “I’ve been here 18 years, and we’ve never had any problems here. When I heard about it, I was like, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me.'” He shared his sentiments with KPRC-TV, adding to the community’s growing concern.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire and the resulting death. According to KTRK-TV, witnesses claimed that the man suffered from mental illness, but authorities have not verified this information.
