Man stabs, slashes 2 NYPD officers at Pelham Parkway subway station
Early Wednesday morning, two NYPD officers were stabbed and slashed by a man at the Pelham Parkway subway station, according to police.
According to law enforcement officials, the incident occurred shortly after 2:30 a.m. on the northbound No. 5 train platform, when police responded to a 911 call regarding a man armed with a knife inside the station.

Two officers, according to the police, approached the man armed with a knife, who then swung it at them without provocation. An officer sustained a laceration to the chin, while the other officer received a stab wound to the left arm. Both officers were transported in stable condition to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi.
“I feel bad because they are the ones who care for us,” Pura Bello, a member of the community, said. “In these eighteen years, nothing comparable has ever occurred. “I am in the company of the police and their families.”
Following the incident, the man with the knife, who police say is forty years old, was taken into custody. As of now, there have been no charges filed.
