Woman critically injured after being hit by NOPD car

On Sunday, October 8, a woman is hospitalized following a collision with a police vehicle, as reported by the New Orleans Police Department.

At approximately 9:20 p.m., an officer was ascending the on-ramp to US 90 East at Barrone and Calliope streets when the woman allegedly walked in front of the vehicle and was struck, according to a release from the NOPD.She was transported to a local hospital, where she is listed in critical condition, according to officers.

As an ongoing investigation, no additional information is available at this time.
